Dr. Kantilal Bhalani’s Goodwill Legacy
Dr.Kantilal H. Bhalani, a respected OB/GYN and Certified Addictionologist, has dedicated more than four decades to medicine, humanitarian work, and community health advocacy. Born in 1949 and trained at B.J. Medical College, Gujarat
University, he began his journey caring for underserved communities in Zambia, managing a 120-bed hospital with compassion and resourcefulness.
After moving to the United States in the late 1970s, Dr. Bhalani completed his training in New York and soon settled in Titusville, Florida. Since 1982, he has cared for thousands of patients at Parrish Medical Center, serving in leadership
roles such as Chief of Obstetrics and Gynecology, President of the Medical Staff, and Chairman of Credentialing. His career reflects an unwavering commitment to the highest standards of patient care and medical excellence.
In 2003, driven by a simple question – “How can we help people in need around the world?”– Dr. Bhalani founded the Doctors’ Goodwill Foundation (DGF). From its first mission to Tibet to countless medical trips to Tanzania, Nepal, India,
and Haiti, DGF has provided critical surgeries, health education, and medical outreach to those with few resources. Under Dr. Bhalani’s leadership, DGF has also funded scholarships for aspiring healthcare professionals, supported local
schools with lifesaving defibrillators, and hosted the well-known Doctors’ Expo to connect the medical community and encourage continuous learning. When disaster struck during Hurricane Katrina, DGF raised over $200,000 to support relief
efforts.
Recognising the urgent need to tackle addiction and HIV prevention, Dr. Bhalani also focuses on managing affordable clinics that provide medication- assisted treatment, prevention education, and compassionate care for vulnerable
populations. Through partnerships and affordable care clinics, he helps patients access treatment, education, and lifesaving preventive medicine. “Health is a gift everyone deserves—no matter where they live or what they can afford,” he
says.
Through it all, Dr. Bhalani remains grateful to the donors, volunteers, and healthcare workers who make this work possible. He believes that when people come together with purpose, they can change lives and communities for the better. For
Dr. Bhalani, his work is more than medicine, it is a promise to serve with compassion, courage, and hope for a healthier tomorrow for all.
